From Winston-Salem, NC. Born August 13, 1988. Only child. Parents were junior college professors. Grew up in the church, though was not spiritually interested at all until was 14 y/o. Responded to the gospel with faith in Christ summer between 8th and 9th. Had a lot of desire and passion to follow Christ throughout high school but didn’t have any training or leadership in my life to show me how Played football and lacrosse growing up.
Davidson College & Campus Outreach.
- Went to Davidson to play football. Joined Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
- 2nd day of football training camp, summer of 2007, walking from the cafeteria to the locker room met Ryan Alexander. Got involved in his Campus Outreach bible study, went to church with him at Lake Forest. Ryan invested in me for freshman and sophomore year, continues to be a close friend today.
- Met Mike and Teresa Sharp via Ryan. Was mentored by Mike and Teresa simultaneously while leading Nathan Sharp and friends in Wednesday night bible study and basketball for last 2.5 years at Davidson.
- Involved in Campus Outreach during time at Davidson. Had opportunities to be discipled and disciple others. Got to see several football teammates and fraternity brothers come to Christ; God has been at work on the DC football for several decades, privilege to be a small part of the story.
- Met Ashley (my wife) through Campus Outreach and Ryan’s (then) somewhat-girlfriend (now wife) Mandy, who was Ashley’s basketball teammate.
- Graduated Davidson May 2011 and very next day flew to South Africa for 2 months of college ministry in Johannesburg. Got to see several guys come to Christ that summer. This experience confirmed calling to college ministry with Campus Outreach.

Personal Interests & Life Lessons.
- I love reading. Anything history, biography, some business, and some theology. I also love sharing about what I’m reading. One of the best ways you can communicate you are genuinely interested in getting to know me is to ask me what I’m currently reading and why you should be reading it too.
- I love the frontier. The geographical frontier, ministry frontier, intellectual frontier, etc.
- Leadership matters and therefore leaders matter.
- Sometimes the best way to lead is to serve. But sometimes, the best way to serve is to lead.
